NBA Fever
As of early in the season, there have been some huge surprises in the NBA. The first of those surprises are the LA Lakers. At four games under .500 they would not even be a contender for a spot in the playoffs if the season ended today. This was almost unfathomable two months ago when they started the season with five all-stars on the roster. After they fired Mike Brown, you could tell that this was going to get ugly. These players do not mix with each other in the offense that they are running, especially without Steve Nash at the point leading them. Another surprising team that is off to a hot start the the New York Knicks. I thought they always had the firepower to be a great team, but they were just missing team chemistry. It seems they found that chemistry since they have the best record in the East right now. The Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs are looking solid again and they are only going to get better as the season goes on. Both these teams like to rest their starters as much as possible until for the big picture. A team that is starting off hot that needed to was the Brooklyn Nets. They had big expectations coming in to the season and they are living up to them so far. Chicago just needs to hold on until they can get Derrick Rose back, then they might have a chance to make some noise. Boston seems to have fallen apart without Ray Allen. They are sitting in 9th place right now at a game above .500. I'm not too worried that they won't make the playoffs, but they are defiantly not the same team anymore. OKC is looking tough again, yet I still don't think they have what it takes to win a championship. A team to look out for is the Memphis Grizzlies. They have two great post players down low that can play with anyone. And finally, one of my favorite teams to watch, the LA Clippers. Still not sure how they are going to fare in a seven game series against the best teams in the West, but they are extremely fun to watch.
