Power Rankings #2

Power Rankings Week 13

NFC

1.      49ers: Playing great football right now, you can’t argue that.

2.      Falcons: Best record in football and they just beat Drew Brees who is hot.

3.      Bears: They are in the right position to make a deep playoff push.

4.      Giants: Wow. That’s all you can say after that dismantling of the Packers last week.

5.      Vikings: Good playoff type football is the way to go with a young QB.

6.      Packers: Can’t tell if they are legit. One week the defense steps up, the next both sides of the ball look bad.

7.      Redskins: RGIII Really lite a spark in this organization. I think they can only go up from here.

8.      Seahawks: They only can win at home. Not a bad thing if your number one in the conference, but that’s not the case here.

9.      Cowboys: Just wasted talent in Dallas. Maybe it’s not the actual teams fault (hint, hint, Jerry Jones).

10.  Buccaneers: A young team with a lot to look forward to in the future, just not this year.

11.  Rams: Some impressive performances this year, yet not enough w’s to show for it.

12.  Saints: Just a sad season in general for one of the great comebacks any city can have.

13.  Lions: No discipline at all and that starts from the top.

14.  Cardinals: Started off hot, but without a QB you won’t go far.

15.  Panthers: Too high of expectations? Whatever happened it wasn’t pretty.

16.  Eagles: The self-proclaimed “dream team” has nothing to show for all the money they spent.

AFC

1.      Patriots: They are hot and have been in this same position for the last decade.

2.      Texans: Once it gets cold, I don’t know who plays better playoff football.

3.      Ravens: By Default they will win the AFC North. Not bad without Ray Lewis.

4.      Broncos: Smarts beats braun every time.

5.      Colts: The surprising team in the league. Plus they have something to play for.

6.      Bengals: Another average team, but there is no on in the AFC to challenge them.

These last teams are in nice terms, bad.

7.      Dolphins: Good turnaround from last year, but there is still room for improvement.

8.      Bills: Need more production from the running back position like they were at the begging of the season.

9.      Steelers: If Ben can play they jump to #5. Too bad he’s not.

10.  Jets: They would be my worst team in chemistry and coaching.

11.  Browns: Bright upside if they can stay healthy. Better than the Browns teams of old.

12.  Raiders: If Darren McFadden can stay healthy, they would make some noise.

13.  Chargers: It’s time for change. Maybe Obama can coach football? Whoever gets the job will do better than Norv Turner.

14.  Jaguars: With that QB change a couple weeks ago I thought they looked better. Still not good enough but better.

15.  Tennessee: If Chris Johnson can pull his head out and realize he is the guy in Tennessee, than they might have some success.

16.  Chiefs: Oh brother. It’s hard to win in the NFL, but Kansas City makes it harder than it should be.

NFL Week 13

NFL Week 13

ATL @ NO: Falcons 23-13(Final)

JAX @ BUF: This one will be sloppy. Buffalo 26-18.

SEA @ CHI: The Bears take care of business at home. Chicago 31-14.

SF @ STL: Not as close as everyone thinks, you can’t consistently run the ball on the 49ers. San Francisco 28-16.

NE @ MIA: The Patriots looks like the best team in the AFC right now. New England 38-12.

ARI @ NYJ: Both of these teams have quarterback issues with a decent defense. If Sanchez plays the whole game, and you like low scoring battles, this one is for you. Arizona 13-7.

IND @ DET: Andrew Luck and the gang run circles around the Lions pitiful secondary. Indianapolis 31-24.

MIN @ GB: This will be a close one. I’m not sure which was worse last week, Rodgers’ mustache, or the actual loss. If Aaron Rodgers can’t get any help on offense it will be a long four weeks till the end of the season. AP gets clogged up, but the Packers offense can’t get rolling. Minnesota  26-21.

HOU @ TEN: Two teams that are historically from the same place, yet they are not headed in the same direction right now. Houston 45-21.

CAR @ KC: Cam Newton looked good on Monday night; can it carry over into this next game? Carolina 24-14.

TB @ DEN: Tampa has been playing good, I just don’t think they can keep up with the fire power that the Broncos have right now. Denver 35-24.

CLE @ OAK: These are the games where rookies can get caught up in a trap. Cleveland plays well and wins 28-17.

CIN @ SD: The Bengals need a win here to stay in the playoff chase. Cincinnati wins 29-13.

PIT @ BAL: The Ravens already have a three game lead in the AFC and without Big Ben I don’t see that going down anytime soon. Baltimore 27-14.

PHI @ DAL: I think Philly just threw in the towel after the loss on Monday, which wasn’t as bad as the players they lost because of it. Dallas 31-17.

NYG @ WAS: I think the Giants are in for a surprise here on Monday night. Washington 38-31.

NFL Week 12

Week 12

Happy Holidays everyone! Hope everything is just how you planned and better. This is one of sport’s greatest times of the year and what makes it even better is the people you spend that time with. To all my friends and family thanks for being there, thank you, I love you all!

HOU @ DET: Texans 34-31 OT (Final) Does Suh hate Thanksgiving?

WAS @ DAL: Redskins 38-31(Final) RGIII is the future of the Redskins.

NE @ NYJ: Patriots 49-19(Final) I’m trying to figure out what is more impressive, Rex Ryan’s press conference lies, or 35 points by the Patriots after a scoreless first quarter?

MIN @ CHI: (Game of the week #2). This is a tossup between two very different but two very talented teams. Bears because they are at home, 28-26.

OAK @CIN: Andy Dalton and company look to keep making a push with a win here 24-10.

PIT @ CLE: Down to their third string QB the Steelers season is vanishing before their eyes. I still don’t think Cleland can beat them though. Steelers 24-23.

BUF @ IND: Back at home Andrew Luck will be comfortable again. Colts 31-18.

DEN @ KC: Denver is not going to trip up here 38-18.

SEA @ MIA: Seattle struggles, but wins in a battle. Seahawks 21-15.

ATL @ TB: (Upset) Atlanta still does not have a quality win. This might be one of the better ones if they can keep the Buccaneers in port. Buccaneers 35-31.

TEN @ JAX: A game that is meaningless in the standings, but very well could be enjoyable to watch. Jaguars 28-21(OT).

BAL@ SD: San Diego is just sad this year. Baltimore isn’t looking great, yet they get the job done. Ravens 38-12.

STL @ARI: Divisional matchups are usually good games. Not this one. Rams let Steven Jackson loose and win 28-10.

SF @ NO: (Game of the week #3) Am I Crazy to think New Orleans can beat the 49ers? Eh, who am I kidding, of course they can. Saints 37-22.

GB @ NYG: (Game of the week #1). The Giants are struggling on defense. This one could get ugly if the G men don’t show up. Packers 29-18.

CAR @ PHI: Who needs a job, I hear the Eagles are hiring. Panthers 26-12.

NFL Week 11

NFL Week 11
BUF @ MIA: Bills 19-14(Final)

ARI @ ATL: Look for Atlanta to come out fired up after their first loss of the season. Matt Ryan comes out throwing bombs in the Georgia dome against a struggling Cardinals team. Falcons 41-18.

CLE @ DAL: Cleveland’s rookies come up big in the first half, but the experience and athleticism of the Cowboys wins in the end. Cowboys 24-21.

GB @ DET: Green Bay is fresh off a well needed bye week and Detroit is coming off a blown lead last weekend. Detroit makes it close, but the Packer’s D comes up with the big stops in the end. Packers 27-19.

CIN @ KC: Kansas City can’t get a break this season. The Bengals are looking good again and playing the Chiefs should only raise their confidence. Bengals 24-10.

PHI @ WAS: The Eagles season is lost already because they can’t seem to get any traction under their feet. Maybe it is time to throw in the towel and start thinking about next year and their QB situation. Great teams to play with a rookie leading the way, but I give the experience factor to the Redskins. Redskins 26-23

TB @ CAR: Tampa is hoping to back their way into the playoffs this year behind the Falcons in the NFC South. The Panthers won’t make it easy on them though. Panthers 24-21

JAC @ HOU: This could be a trap game for the Texans if they are not careful. That means they are coming off a great win Monday night, and they are expecting to just walk into their home stadium and blow out a young Jaguars team. Even with that being said, the Texans are too good to go against them in a game like this. Texans 31-27.

NYJ @ STL: A tie? The Rams could have beaten the NFC West leader and they blew it last week! Playing the Jets is like having another bye at this point. Their locker room is in dismay and Rex Ryan deserves to be fired. Rams win 35-12.

NO @ OAK: Drew Brees is confident that his team can make the playoffs this year. I wouldn’t go that far, but they can make this season look respectable. Saints 36-18.

SD @ DEN: San Diego has a chance to really shake things up here in the AFC West. In Denver at Mile High it is going to be hard to come out with a win. I think Denver pulls it out 31-17.

IND @NE: (Upset Game & Game of the week #3). No one is overlooking the Colts now. A showdown between the legend of the league and the future of the league will be an exciting one. Colts win 33-31.

BAL @ PIT: (Game of the week #1) Without Big Ben I don’t see the Steelers doing much damage on offense. As bad as that is, the game will still be close. Ravens 16-10.

CHI @ SF: (Game of the week #2) Each of these teams lost their QB’s to concussions last week. The 49ers are more equipped to succeed with their backup. The game is at candlestick and a solid running game will help San Fran win. 49ers 21-14.

NFL Week 10

NFL Week 10
IND @ JAC: Colts 27-10(Final)

NYG @ CIN: New York let one slip away last week after a poor overall performance. Cincinnati can’t seem to get rolling on all cylinders and that is a must against great teams. Giants 31-22.
TEN @ MIA: Neither of these teams has a great shot at the playoffs, but they are still not yet mathematically eliminated. I think Miami wins this one at home and puts some pressure on teams ahead of them in the AFC. Dolphins 24-18.

DET @ MIN: The Vikings need to give Christian Ponder a lighter load like they did early in the season when they were surprising everyone. AP has proved to everyone that he is back with a chip on his shoulder. GIVE HIM THE BALL. A great way to keep the Lions off balance is to keep their offense off the field. Vikings 24-23.

BUF @ NE: Do I need to say much about this one. This one is in Foxborough and Tom Brady is hot. Buffalo can only hope to keep it close by grinding out the clock with the run game. Patriots 31-16.

ATL @ NO: (Upset game and also game of the week #2). This one will be better than I think people perceive. As division rivals these two teams know each other well. The game is in New Orleans and the Saints have new hope after they started the season off winless. Saints 35-28.

SD @ TB: This one could go either way depending on which team shows up. Literally, both teams have alter egos this season when it comes to the way they play the game. Doug Martin should have a great day and should be started in every fantasy league. TIE

DEN @ CAR: Carolina showed some life last week actually. Now they’ve won two games all year! Peyton Manning is getting better every week he gets with his new receivers and that is not good news for the Panthers. Wrong team, wrong time: Denver wins easily 34-13.

OAK @ BAL: In Maryland the Ravens always have the upper hand. This game will be a lot closer than the box score will imply. Ravens 41-25.

NYJ @ SEA: Seattle is still undefeated at Quest field and I don’t expect that to change this week. Mark Sanchez will be under pressure and make the critical mistakes that you would think a rookie would make. On the other side, the rookie protects the ball and takes what the defense will give him. Seahawks 17-10.

DAL @ PHI: (Game of the week #3). These two teams have the same record. How are they still in the chase for a divisional title? A few good things and some luck will only help their cause. Dallas wins and Mike Vick gets hurt. You can’t give up hits on your QB like Philly does and expect to win, let alone stay healthy. Eagles make it close though; Cowboys 24-21.

STL @ SF: You have to give St. Louis credit they have defiantly exceeded expectations this year. You can only go so far on average play in the NFL, eventually playmakers need to step up and take over the game. 49ers 27-20.

HOU @ CHI: (Game of the week #1). All eyes are on this game. Both teams only have one loss, and amazingly enough, to the hands of the same team. The more disciplined quarterback has a better chance in this game and I give that to the Texans. Texans 23-20.

KC @ PT: Pittsburg is slowly regaining some ground as a playoff contender as they space themselves from the pack in this game. The Chiefs can’t seem to get a break this year. Steelers 36-13.

NFL Week 9

NFL Week 9
SD @ KC: Chargers 31-13(Final)

DEN @ CIN: Marvin Lewis calls out his QB and middle linebacker this week as Cincinnati plays one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Too bad Denver comes is and keeps the Bengals losing streak going. Broncos 31-16.

BAL @ CLE: After a much needed bye week for Baltimore they get the Browns, which is like having another bye week. Ravens 35-12.

ARI @ GB: Arizona seems to be getting worse after that great start they had. Green Bay looks like the opposite. Packers 24-14.

CHI @ TEN: Chris Johnson won’t get started against the Bears defense as nothing goes right for Tennessee. Bears 41-9.

MIA @ IND: (Game of the week #2) As of right now Ryan Tannehill will not play in this game. Advantage goes to the Colts who are in the playoff hunt with their rookie quarterback. This one will be thrilling down to the last play. The new rules state you can’t win on a field goal and Andrew Luck capitalizes. Colts 31-27(OT)

CAR @ WAS: RGIII wants to be compared to Aaron Rodgers? He’s a smart man and knows how to win football games. Redskins 27-19.

DET @ JAC: Is there a better way to get yourself back into the playoff chase than to play the Jaguars? Lions 35-21.

BUF @ HOU: Houston is looking solid and won’t lose to a team it shouldn’t. Texans 36-20.

MIN @ SEA: (Game of the week #3) This could be a critical game once the playoffs start getting closer. Seattle wins because they are at home. Seahawks 24-21.

TB @ OAK: Tampa has some weapons, but they just haven’t been able to win games this year. Bucs 29-24.

PIT @ NYG: (Game of the week #1) This one is a great matchup. Neither team will be prepared to play, but one this is for certain, Pittsburg NEEDS a win this week. Let the terrible towels be seen. Steelers 24-23.

DAL @ ATL: (Upset game) Dallas has underachieved for the last ten years in my opinion. They have so much talent, yet they can never pull it together when it counts. Atlanta is good, but not 16-0 good. It would not shock me to see the upset pulled here. Cowboys 27-17.

PHI @ NO: This will be a good game. It could also be Michael Vick’s last. Look for Andy Reid to get the ball to McCoy every chance he gets against the worst defense in the game right now. Eagles 38-28.
