NFL Week #3

NFL Week 3

NYG @ CAR: Too many injuries for the Giants to overcome. Panthers 24-20.

STL @ CHI: A good game to bounce back from an embarrassing loss for the Bears. Bears 27-17.

BUF @ CLE: The Browns are too young and C.J. Spiller is playing great. Bills 28-20.

TB @ DAL: (Game of the Week #2) This is not one I would bet on in Vegas. Both teams are coming off tough losses. Cowboys 17-16.

DET @ TEN: The Titans just don’t have what it takes to stop the Lions offense. 31-13.

NYJ @ MIA: Jets may be back and the only thing that can stop them is themselves, mainly the quarterback position. Jets 27-16.

SF @ MIN: Should be an easy game for these 49ers. Maybe AP will surprise us and give us a show against the best run defense in the NFL last year. It’s a long shot, but maybe. 49ers 34-20.

KC @ NO: The Saints will get their first win this week by getting on track from last year. Saints 35-14.

CIN @ WAS: Robert Griffin can’t do this forever… except he can do it against the Bengals. Redskins 28-24.

PHI @ ARI: Wow! Arizona has shocked me this year. I still don’t think they can beat the Eagles, though the Eagles do seem to play to the level of their opponents. This is the final step for the Cardinals. If they pull it off they are for real this year. Eagles 21-20(shocker game).

ATL @ SD: This one will be more of a shootout. The Falcons have more weapons and more momentum to build on. Falcons 41-28.

HOU @ DEN: (Game of the week #3) The Texans will need to slow down the game and keep Peyton Manning off the field. That is exactly what their plan is with Arian Foster. Texans 27-24.

PIT @ OAK: This one will be embarrassing. I’m sorry Raider fans; it has been a tough couple of decades. Steelers 38-13.

NE @ BAL: (Game of the Week) This one could go either way as well. I just think without Hernandez, the Ravens are too tough on defense. Ravens 24-21.

GB @ SEA: Seattle is looking good, but not playoff ready yet. The Packers will expose those problems no one has seen yet. Packers 27-16.

NFL Week 2

NFL Week 2 Predictions

CHI@ GB: Jay Cutler looked good last week and that is exactly what the Bears have been missing for the past twenty years. If he can keep the turnovers down, Chicago is a legitimate super bowl contender this year. The Packers biggest problem right now is getting their defense off the field. Their offense still have the explosiveness that took them to the super bowl two years ago it is just up to Charles Woodson and Clay Mathews to make something happen and spark this defense for the rest of the year. I think Green Bay will bounce back from last week and win in a shootout, 41-34.

TB @NYG: Eli Manning has to prove that he can get the job done even when the defense is struggling. Last year the only reason he had all those comebacks was because the defense kept it close till the 4th quarter. It’s not a bad thing to play great in the last quarter of a game, but I’d like to see him be more consistent throughout the game and show that he deserved that super bowl MVP last season. This could be a great launch pad for the Giants since they are starting in the hole at the bottom of their division. The Bucs are young and talented, but the pass rush might just be a bit too much for Josh Freeman. If they pass this test you can look for them to be competitive in the NFC South. Tampa Bay 24-21(OT).

OAK @ MIA: Two teams that don’t have much going for them right now. At least the Dolphins future looks bright. For a rookie Tannehill played a solid game. That being said, there are many improvements he has to make if he wants to be a starter in this league for long. This will be a sloppy game that will either end with ten field goals being kicked, or just a defensive stalemate. The only thing the Raiders have going for them is a great running game. If they can shorten the game and keep their defense off the field than they will win. If not Miami has the upper hand. Raiders 17-13.

HOU@ JAX: People are talking about Houston being the second best team in the league. The great teams beat bad teams soundly. I want to see them take over the game and prove they deserve this recognition. Let’s see how they do in this game against the Jaguars. Texans 31-12.

CLE @ CIN: After a disappointing loss at Baltimore, can the Bengals regain the confidence they had last year entering the playoffs? The Brown’s defense stepped up against Philadelphia last week and their hoping to do the same this week. The Browns need to develop a running game to help poor rookie Brandon Weedon out as he gets adjusted to the NFL. Bengals 24-16.

KC @ BUF: Buffalo looked pitiful in their opening performance against the Jets. With all the money they spent on defense you would hope that is not the outcome for the rest of the season. Both of these teams haven’t lived up to their expectations this year and it is only week two. December doesn’t come fast enough if you are not winning. This game is a draw I really don’t know who I think will win. But since I have to choose, CJ Spiller cranks out another 100+ yard game and the Bills ride him to victory 22-14.

BAL @ PHI: I loved the way the Ravens played on Monday night. It looked like they finally trusted Flacco not to make mistakes with the offense. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are getting and need help so this could not have come at a better time. Michael Vick needs to stop being a pocket passer and get back to what he is good at; scaring defenses around the league with his running capabilities. Baltimore’s defense is too good for Vick to beat them with his arm. Baltimore 27-20.

NO @ CAR: The Saints defense proved what they were worth last week against Robert Griffin III, Pierre Garcon and Roy Halu Jr., do you really think they have a better chance against Cam Newton, Steve Smith, and DeAngelo Williams? I think the Saints offense will do better than they did last week, but they still need to get that defense off the field for them to produce anything. This is a tough game, but I think No Orleans can pull it out. Saints 38-24.

ARI @ NE: This is just another sad game you can almost put in the books before it even happens. Arizona is struggling too much and the Patriots have too much going for them. New England 31-14.

MIN @ IND: If Minnesota wins this game they are sitting on top of the NFC North which is considered the toughest conference right now in my mind. Whether this be by flukes playing weak opponents that doesn’t matter one bit. Andrew Luck could have his way with this defense though. They are not as tough as the Bears that he was introduced to last week. The Colts get the first win of the season 24-19.

WAS @ STL: Robert Griffin was extremely impressive in his first win as a rookie last week. I like the way Mike Shanahan limited his decision making by throwing a lot of quick passes early on in the game, and once he comfortable opened up the offense a little bit. I think he will have another outstanding performance. Redskins 31- 13.

DAL @ SEA: I was a believer of Russell Wilson to begin with, and I still am, but not against a good opponent like this. Tony Romo looks to be in full control of his offense, and for the first time in a few years, he looks like he is comfortable. He is not rushing his throws or getting down on himself when he makes a mistake like he used to. I don’t want to say Dallas is back, but they are certainly making their case better. Cowboys 24- 17.

NYJ @ PIT: Game of the week #2. Big Ben had a rough time in Denver last week. With Ryan Clark and James Harrison back in the lineup at home, that will sure up Pittsburg’s defense. The Steelers play solid ball week in and week out you always know what to expect when you play them. Unlike them are the Jets. Last week they put up over 40 points on the Bills, yet they were supposed to be at the bottom of the division this year. Maybe this is what happens when Rex Ryan finally shuts up? I wouldn’t count on it though. Steelers 27-20.

TEN @ SD: The Chargers looked average in their home opener against the Raiders last week. I want to see them play a good opponent for a full game. The Titans are still looking for someone to step up and make some plays. That is supposed to be Chris Johnson, but I’m looking for someone else. Someone whose name we don’t know yet. Someone to come out of nowhere and play their heart out almost like Arian Foster did a few years ago. I still think it is San Diego’s game to lose though. Chargers 24-17.

DET @ SF: #3 Game of the week. Rematch from last years heated battle which ended in words from both head coaches. San Francisco looks good. Maybe best team in the NFL good. Lions need to actually show up to this game and play like they are capable of. Even if they do that, I still have the 49ers winning. San Francisco 31-28.

DEN @ ATL: Game of the week #1. Another good game between teams that are coming off wins this last week. I’m expecting lots of fireworks between these two teams’ offenses. If Peyton Manning still has his smarts from earlier in his career the Broncos will be 2-0 to start this new season. Monday night in Prime time will set the stage for this one. Broncos 34-31.

Week One Predictions

NFL Week 1- 2012

Ind @ Chi: This will be a tough one for Andrew Luck’s first NFL start. I could see it being a disaster if the coaches for the Colt’s don’t help him out early with the run game. I have the Bears 27-13. It will be interesting to see if Jay Cutler hook up with Brandon Marshall again and have that same chemistry like they have had in the past.

Phi @ Cle: Yet another rookie QB is starting in this one, going up against a much improved Eagles defense from last year. This one is going to be closer than most people expect, the Eagles still have the upper hand. Look for them to try and get Vick and McCoy started early. Eagles 24-16

Stl @ Det: Megatron is hoping that he will break the receiving yards record this year; what a great place to start that quest at home against a weak secondary. The Lions will pick up right where they left off last year by lighting up the score board with Stafford leading the way. Lions 38-20.

Ne @ Ten: Coming off their super bowl loss the Patriots will be hungry to show everyone that they have not fallen off one bit. The Titans are still young and have decent looking future, but that’s not enough to hold back New England. Patriots 24-14.

Atl @ KC: Tony Gonzlola’s first trip back to Arrowhead will be a rough one. This could be a sleeper game for the Falcons if their offense becomes stagnant. Kansas City 21-17.

Jac @ Min: This is really anyone’s game. Whoever shows up will be the victor. Surprisingly I expect this one to be exciting. If AP plays the Vikings win 24-21.

Wsh @ No: Jonathan Villma is thanking the football gods for at the moment for this extra chance he has gotten. Don’t expect him to let it slip. Robert Griffin III will do well, but will try to force too much at the end of the game and have too many turnovers for the Redskins to overcome. Saints 34-24.

Buf @ Nyj: Tebowmania will be on the Jets side for the first quarter, than you have to show up and play football. The improved defense for the Bills will step up and put Sanchez in his place. Bills 24-21.

Mia @ Hou: New head coach Joe Philban makes his debut here and looks to impress critics. The Texans will give Miami a steady does of Arian Foster to make the game speed up. In the end Texans 17-14.

Sf @ Gb: My first game of the week of two. The best offense against the best defense from a year ago. Statistically in the past, 49ers have 90% chance of winning. There are still too many questions on the defensive side of the ball for me. If Aaron Rodgers and his receiving corps stays hot like they were last year, I think that’s a different story, but for now I’ll stay on history’s side. 49ers 28-24.

Sea @ Ari: Russell Wilson is too short, too short, too… wait he’s starting in the NFL?? He will silence critics on Sunday and make doubters believers as he tears apart a Cardinals team who really has no identity at the Quarterback position. Seahawks 34-17.

Car @ Tb: Cam Newton: Sophomore slump? Or does he get even better? Only time will tell, but for now the Bucs need to contain him and they won’t have a problem winning this game. Buccaneers 20-17 OT.

Pit @ Den: This is my second game of the week. Peyton Manning comes back strong against a Pittsburg defense that is known for its toughness. I’m predicting the Steelers will look rusty and flat after that disappointing playoff loss last year to a different Broncos team. This year’s Broncos are even better. Not to mention the new offensive coordinator in Pittsburg. Peyton scrapes out a win. Denver 28-27.

Cin @ Bal: An early division game could determine the playoff picture this year. Andy Dalton will improve this season because he will have to with the loss of Cedric Benson. Not a good time though to test out how your running game will be without your leading rusher from a year ago. Ravens 27-16.

Sd @ Oak: This could be one of the most boring games of the week. Sloppy play or defense will prevail. Chargers 24-12.
